| Press Release Talktourism.ie launched 'First of its kind in the Country'! Cavan Monaghan Rural Development (LEADER) has developed www.talktourism.ie a discussion board web-site which was officially launched by Mr. Brendan Smith T.D. Minister for State at the Department of Agriculture and Food on the 26th April. Talktourism.ie is a discussion board web-site which has been developed to provide a forum where tourism providers can meet online, exchange ideas/concerns, express their opinions, identify marketing opportunities and generally communicate with each other. Minister Brendan Smith T.D. stated that 'It is always a singular pleasure, and indeed a privilege, to participate in the launch of a project which is not only innovative and creative but is also the first of its kind in this country' Talktourism.ie is essentially a discussion forum which is free to all users and allows free-following exchange of information between all levels of the tourism industry across the island of Ireland. John Toland, Tourism Officer - CMRD stated that 'talktourism.ie is targeted at tourism providers in the border counties and Northern Ireland, and is set up in manner to encourage all levels of participation from all organisations with a remit in tourism development'. TalkTourism.ie is organised by Cavan Monaghan Rural Developments 'Tourism Training Initiative' which is part-financed by the European Union's Programme for Peace and Reconciliation and the Irish Government under the National Development Plan, and managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by Border Action'.
